For more than 22 years, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside children, families and educators in Australian Early Childhood Education and Care. Throughout my career, I’ve been passionate about creating engaging learning environments, building strong relationships and mentoring educators to grow in confidence and capability. One lesson has stayed with me. Qualifications provide the foundation, but confidence is what enables great educators to thrive. Over the years, I’ve found myself naturally mentoring graduate educators, supporting internationally trained educators and helping colleagues navigate the practical realities of working with children and families. Watching others grow in confidence has become one of the most rewarding parts of my career. Today, alongside casual primary school teaching, I’m the founder of Praxibel and creator of The Confident Educator, a practical professional learning program designed to help educators build the confidence, communication skills and everyday capabilities that aren’t always taught in formal qualifications. My areas of interest include: • Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) • Professional learning and educator mentoring • Graduate and internationally trained educator support • Intentional teaching • Behaviour guidance • Family partnerships • Educational leadership • Outdoor learning environments I believe every educator deserves the opportunity to thrive, not simply survive, because confident educators create stronger relationships, richer learning experiences and better outcomes for children.
